If refrigerator got a problem, the most case is the ice maker. So how to know the ice maker has got a problem, the direct way is check the little light near to the on-off switch, if the light turns red, this indicator shows that the ice maker have broken, the best method to repair your refrigerator is replacing the ice maker entirely with new one.
If the light is normal, then take the ice maker out of the refrigerator. You must remember that it will take you few hours before the ice maker start to run after placing it sit at normal temperature. Because thermostat will keep the ice maker from working unless the temperature gets to about 10 degrees. When the condition is allowed, you can pull the front cover in white color off the ice maker to do some checks. You could find under the cover there are some holes with some little letters beside them. Just do some voltage tests with a volt meter to check if the ice maker has problem. They are often at line voltage. Just connect the T and H using a wire. Now if it starts running, after a few minutes you will hear some noisy which means the ice maker has ran a cycle. Check the ice maker, if the fill with water which means the ice maker has a problem.
